Parlez-vous français? Bonjour! Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey into the varied world of the French language? Look no further than our Beginner French Class this summer. If you have mastered much grammar and our ready to delve deeper and hone your conversation skills, then check out our Intermediate French & Conversation Class.
WHERE: Wingspan Studio. 4 Howard Street, 3rd fl, Burlington, VT. Zoom participants welcome too.
WHO: Led by Maggie Standley. With 25 years teaching experience, having lived in Paris, France and Yaoundé, Cameroon, her dynamic French classes offer not only language learning but a lens on the vast francophone world. She holds a professional French teaching license from the VT Agency of Education. Maggie attended the prestigious L'Institut D'Etudes Politique, La Sorbonne and L’Institut Catholique in Paris. She pursued graduate work at the University of Yaounde, Cameroon as the recipient of a Rotary Graduate Scholarship in international/community development, post-colonial African literature, ecology of natural resources. Learning French was a goal she worked hard to achieve. She is able to break down this beautiful language and make it accessible to all.

Dates/Times: WEDNESDAYS - 4:30 pm-6:00 pm, July 26, Aug 2, Aug 9, Aug 16, 2023 (4-weeks)
This intermediate level class prioritizes conversation practice to ensure that you are on your way to gain real-world fluency. Engage in lively discussions, role plays, all designed to help you express yourself confidently in French. Includes: themed partner conversations- with vocab/helpful phrases, phonetics exercises, reading aloud, comprehension, a little writing, grammar review as comes up and beaucoup of Madame Maggie's tips/instructional strategies. There will be time for personalized attention and teacher feedback as well as opportunities to engage with fellow students and work on topics of interest.
To bring: A notebook, folder, 3-d dictionary (as in a book) French-English. Curricular Content, Art Materials, Handouts and digital supplemental resources provided. Berets optional.
